Iberian Zone Audit Manager (m/f)

More than a job, a mission!

As a member of the Group Audit Department, the Iberian Zone Audit Manager is responsible for the proper execution of the internal audit function within Oney's Iberian Zone with the aim of securing the latter’s activities. It will be responsible for ensuring the consistency of the work carried out by both internal audit teams (Portugal and Spain) and the compliance with the methods and practices communicated by the Internal Audit Department at the Group/Corporate level.


What are the responsibilities?

Verify the quality of the financial situation and management, the proper functioning of the internal control system, and the quality of the risk management system regarding the various regulations in force.

Allocate resources to set up a periodic control organization covering the Oney Portugal and Oney Spain entities.

In line with Oney Group Audit Director, ensure both Oney Portugal and Oney Spain governance bodies are aware of the development of the audit missions/work carried out and respective conclusions.

Ensure that all open recommendations are periodically followed by the audit teams and reported to the board (local and Group/Corporate level).

Work collaboratively with the Corporate Internal Audit Team to drive the risk assessment and planning process to ensure delivery of a responsive, risk-based audit plan which addresses key strategic and business model risks and ensure the audit strategy assures over new and emerging risks.

Ensure that external inspections (IGs or regulators) are carried out correctly and that action plans are properly implemented.

Provide an independent view of risk control, quality, and relevance of the control systems across the entities in the Iberian zone.

Responsibility for managing a portfolio of audits missions end to end, working directly with the Group Internal Audit Director, and ensure an alignment on the audit missions developed by the Corporate Audit team and the Iberian Zone Audit team, namely in terms of practices, methodology, and settled objectives.


What are we looking for?

Degree in Management, Economics or similar.

Significant experience (ideally 7 to 10 + years) in leading audit missions or in an audit related role within a regulated financial services environment.

Fluent in Portuguese or Spanish and English, both in written and oral communication.

Banking and Insurance industry experience.

Experience in managing teams and projects, preferably with working experience in a multi-cultural background will be a plus.

Strong sense of responsibility for completing assigned tasks and self-driven to succeed.

Self-motivated, proactive in approach, positive ‘can do’ attitude, ability to motivate and inspire others in the audit team, and proven track record of resilience in the face of adversity.

Good communication and interaction skills with different interlocutors, including have the confidence to present findings, along with suggested recommendations to senior stakeholders. 

Availability to travel occasionally.

The position will be located at Portugal or Spain according to candidate´s home residence.
